Plan to drive into Singapore doesn’t work out due to traffic condition. Spent some time at Danga City Mall Home Expo 2012 looking for a suitable furniture instead. Well, we don’t have high hope on these type of expo because we went to the Malaysia IT Fair in KSL City. These fairs or expos are usually small scaled, monopolized and disorganized compare to those in Singapore.
After spending some 2 hours there, we also went to the Chan Furniture, Rustica and Lorenzo along Jalan Tebrau before heading for lunch in Johor Jaya.
- Xin Le Xiang Coffee Shop
This is where the best slice fish noodle is served in Johor Bahru. Not any fancy cafe or kopitiam, just the ordinary coffee shop with a few stalls in it. My apologies for not stating the coffee shop name in English, I couldn’t even read the chinese wording. Yes, I am a banana/potato. Luckily Grace is not.
You’ll need a little patience when eating here. Best thing is worth the wait..and the sweat. Please avoid weekday lunch time as it is too crowded and you may need to wait even longer. We waited for 45 minutes at 2.45pm on a saturday afternoon!!
What you see on the menu is practically what you get. Your privilege, to choose the type of noodle. Always repeat the choice of noodle because sometimes when they are too busy, they tend to forget.
If you are not a big fan of fried fish, there’s other alternatives. You can try the Frog Noodle, Big Prawn Noodle, Seafood Pork Mix Noodle, the fresh Sliced Fish Noodle and even Fish Ball Noodle for the kids.
After placing the order, they will be giving you the number stand like this.
Grace decided to try the Frog Noodle this time after she had tried the Fried Fish Noodle before. The frog meat is soft and the soup is nice (a little less-flavored compare to fried fish noodle). Overall, it is still good.
My favorite Fried Fish Head Noodle! The taste is fantastic, soup is “sweet” [sweetness from fried fish, tomatoes, ginger]and nice and the serving is big! Definitely worth every penny that you pay for it. Even though this is named fish head, but they also put some slice fried fish in it. We highly recommend this if you like to eat fish head, but if you don’t fancy fish head, try the Fried Fish Noodle or the Big Prawn Noodle.
